Lee Kariker Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
2003-04 marked Lee's 17th season as the Cardinals top varsity assistant...the Cardinals are 407-189 (.682) since his arrival...he won his 400th game while at Jewell on February 27, 2004 at Benedictine College...he was head coach at Moberly Junior College ('74-'83) with a nine year record of 216-83 (.722) while winning four conference titles...in his last two years at Moberly, his teams placed fifth and seventh in the National Tournament...he was named Region 16 Coach of the Year twice...was inducted into the Moberly Junior College Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997..he has also coached at North Kansas City High School...Lee played at Bethany, MO high school and Northwest Missouri State University...Lee and his wife Sue have two children, Jason and Brooke, a graduate of William Jewell...they reside in Lee's Summit, MO.
Bret Howren
Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Bret just finished his third season with the Cardinals....he coached the Junior Varsity his first year (2000-01) and assisted at the varsity level the last two years and also heads the Cardinals recruiting efforts....head coach at Maysville, MO High School for two years (1998-2000)...prepped at Trenton, MO High School...played one year at William Jewell before transferring to the University of Missouri-Columbia where he completed his degree...teaches English at Liberty High School.
B.J. Hair
Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
B.J. has finished his second year with the Cardinals....he was Jewell's junior varsity coach in 2002-03 and has worked exclusively as a varsity assistant this season....head coach at Winnetonka High School (Kansas City, MO) for the five years (1997-2002)....prepped at Hogan High School (Kansas City, MO) and is a 1991 graduate of Southwest Missouri State University....teaches Physical Education at Winnetonka....B.J. and his wife Jacqui have a daughter, Ella.
Andrew Peters
Assistant Men's Basketball Coach
Andrew finished his first year as a member of the staff...he served as the Junior Varsity Head Coach...Andrew had an outstanding playing career for the Cardinals...he was a four-year letter winner, a two-time First Team All-Conference Selection and capped his senior year (2002) by being named an NAIA II Honorable Mention All-American...the Columbia, MO native prepped at Rock Bridge High School. Peters is currently teaching at South Valley Middle School in Liberty, MO.
