Inaugural Townsend Trophy
· Park University - William Jewell College. Purpose of the trophy is to invigorate the spirit of character and image through competition, enhancing the rivalry between two upstanding, liberal arts institutions in Kansas City North. The Cardinals captured the first-year Trophy that will be presented in the fall of 2004 on the campus of WJC.

Miscellaneous:
· Football and Soccer played on the new Sprinturf field.
· First-ever Women’s Soccer Celebration after the team competed in the NAIA Women’s Soccer National Tournament in Santa Barbara, Calif. with a 21-1-1 season.
· Baseball and Softball made major renovations after the tornado.
· The Men’s Soccer program has some interesting family characteristics – team member brothers: Andy and Brian Shields, Jake and Clint Wyllie, Allan and Kevin Nekuda, Michael and Jacob Patton with cousin Brock Patton, and brother Ben Fischer remains behind after brother Andrew graduated this May.
· Two new coaches join the athletic department as head coaches: Rob Thomson – Tennis, and Allison Jones – Volleyball. Other new personnel: Ethan Pole, Bubba Rhodes and Tom Irvin Football, Don Elrod, Equipment, Woody Haywood, Shane Remley Baseball. Separations: Adam Dorrel, Troy Bray, Beed Harris, Andrew Peters, and B.J. Hair received new coaching positions at other institutions. Long time Basketball Team Chaplain, Lloyd Arnsmeyer, moved to Texas to assume new duties with Fellowship of Christian Athletes as an Area Director.

· Kristin Neher (Women’s Soccer) became the first player to reach 200 points in the history of Jewell Soccer.
· Kristin Neher scored her 100th career goal reaching it faster than any other soccer athlete in collegiate (NCAA, NAIA) history.
· Blake Ryan (Men’s Soccer) broke Jewell’s All-Time Assists Record
· Men’s Soccer Best Season ever with a 16-3 overall record
· Men’s Basketball – Most wins in a single season: 33
· Men’s Basketball – Lee Kariker won his 400th game as an assistant coach
· Pierre Jallow finishes his three-year Jewell career with 1168 points.
· Clint Underwood tied a 42-year-old Men’s Basketball record for steals in a game with eight.
· Larry Holley – 635 career victories makes him the all-time leader in career wins at a four-year institution.
· Larry Holley the 2004 recipient of the Carrie Franche Memorial Award from the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association.
· Baseball - 47 wins in a single season
· Baseball wins the NAIA Region V Baseball Tournament
· Baseball plays in the NAIA Region V “Super” Regional Tournament
· Women’s Tennis had its highest NAIA National Ranking at #18
· Women’s Golf – two-conference tournament wins in one week
· Coach Lucito to be inducted into the Missouri Valley College Hall of Fame in the fall of 2004.
· Jesse Land – Men’s Golf – Individual leader in the WJC Spring Golf Invitational
· Matt Levingston placed 5th in the world famous Drake Relays in the Decathlon. Broke the school record.
· The 20-1 #1 doubles record for Laura Curry and Ashley Walker is the best winning percentage in school history.
