Spirit Teams at Jewell
Season Outlook
The William Jewell Spirit Team has been practicing over the summer preparing performances for the football halftimes. We look forward to an exciting season! The Dance Team is coached by Tina Keller, with assistant coach Amanda Hawkins. The Cheer Squad is coached by Beed Harris, with assistant coach Trisha McCracken. There are 32 on the Dance Team and 33 on the Cheer Squad, plus our Mascot, Kevin Uhrich. There are 25 first year students on Spirit Team. The Spirit Team got off to a wild start this year (huddling together in the men’s locker room): our tryouts were on Tornado Sunday, May 4th. Besides serving William Jewell athletic events, the Spirit Team also competes at the national level. Tryouts for Nationals Dance and Nationals Cheer will be held in late September. The Spirit Team program is coordinated by Linda Rae Chappell.
