The William Jewell tradition of achievement in men’s sports extends to four recent Cardinal basketball team appearances in the Final Four tournament. The Cardinal football team made history in the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics by going to the national playoffs four consecutive years and by becoming the first college in NAIA history to notch 500 football victories. Jewell is a member of the Heart of America Athletic Conference. A strong program of intramural sports is also offered.

An extensive schedule of team sports and self-directed activities make The Mabee Center for Physical Education one of the busiest buildings on campus. Here you’ll find basketball and handball courts, an Olympic-sized pool and a well-equipped weight room for personal training.
