OUR PROMISE

William Jewell College is a campus of achievement that promises to offer students an outstanding liberal arts education with a focus on cultivating leadership, service and spiritual growth within a community inspired by rigorous intellectual challenges and Christian ideals.

This spring a group of faculty and members of the administrative council of the College engaged in the first stages of a strategic planning process. This part of the process was focused on the development of values and vision statements and the promise statement above. Our mission has been consistent for many years, but we believe that every generation should internalize, clearly articulate, and live out that mission in a way that fits the times. This promise statement provides that guide.

We believe strongly in the mission of the College, so strongly that our living of the mission becomes our promise to our students, our faculty, our staff, our graduates, our community partners, and our many supporters and friends. This promise is built on values that we hold as core values of our community.

OUR VALUES

William Jewell College values the individual talents of our students, faculty, staff and alumni and the importance of developing, using and enhancing these gifts for the betterment of the individual, the institution and the world.
