Financial Aid: Aid Types: Loans
The following Loans are offered at William Jewell College:

Federal Perkins Loan - $200 to $3,000
Based on demonstrated need. FAFSA submission required.

Federal Subsidized Loan (Stafford) - $2,625 to $5,500 (Depending on class year)
Based on demonstrated need. FAFSA submission required.

Federal Unsubsidized Loan (Stafford) - (Varies)
Not need-based. FAFSA submission required.


Federal Parent Loan - (Cost of attendance minus other financial aid)
Not need-based, based on credit worthiness. A Federal Parent Loan Application/Promissory Note is required. Parents can apply online and have the credit check performed within minutes. Our service provider, Sallie Mae, can begin the PLUS process by clicking here, or by calling the Sallie Mae Parent Answer Service at 1-800-806-3669.

Alternative Loans - (Varies)
Privately funded loans offered by independent financial institutions (e.g. Signature Loan, Key Alternative Loan; EDCASH; CitiAssist). Apply for Signature Loan - student borrower.

Home Equity Loans - (Varies)
Home Equity Loans are an excellent source of financing for families with equity in their homes. For details, contact your lender. Generally interest paid on Home Equity Loans qualifies as an itemized tax deduction reducing the after-tax rate to one that is usually lower than the alternate financing options.

NOTE: Loan options are subject to change. In order to receive federal financial assistance, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The Title IV code for William Jewell College is 002524.
