College Union Activities (CUA) is a student organization that plans or “programs” events for the entire William Jewell College community to enjoy. The events are generated from six student coordinated CUA committees. CUA strives to uphold its mission through every event it brings to the WJC campus.
CUA was created in 1957, by Dean of Students William Holzapfel, as a way to popularize Yates College Union and make it the center of activity for students. Over the years, student volunteers have been an important part of CUA’s evolution. From Jimmy Carter in the 80’s to Sarah McLachlan in the 90’s, CUA continually provides the WJC community with programs people want to attend. The legacy of CUA is that of providing quality entertainment and an ongoing student commitment to enriching the WJC community through involvement.
CUA meets weekly in Yates College Union; membership is open to anyone who wants to get involved. For more information regarding CUA, contact Ernie Stufflebean, ext. 5231.
