As you become accustomed to your new life at William Jewell, there are bound to be moments when you experience growing pains. Change is exciting, but it can also be a little scary as you explore the many aspects of a more independent style of living.
The First-Year Experience is a program designed to help you navigate through your first year at Jewell, a time that will be packed with new challenges and experiences. Time Magazine cited Jewell’s First-Year Experience as one of the country’s “highly effective programs to help first-year students make a successful transition into college life.” Based on the strength of its first-year programs, Time named William Jewell its “Liberal Arts College of the Year” for 2001-2002. The First-Year Experience operates out of the Student Affairs Office. The staff is always ready to offer encouragement and support whenever you need it as you become a part of the William Jewell community.
