Founded in 1849, William Jewell College is a campus of achievement, offering students an outstanding liberal arts education with a unique focus on cultivating leadership within an environment that values intellectual challenge and personal and spiritual growth.
Distinctive programs include the nationally-renowned Oxbridge Honors and Pryor Leadership programs. Jewell students have won distinctive recognition, including Marshall, Truman and USA Today scholarships awarded to Jewell students during 2002—only Harvard, Stanford and William Jewell claimed all three of these high-profile awards. U.S. News & World Report also named Jewell’s programs for first-year students among the top ten among U.S. colleges and universities. The College was honored by TIME Magazine in 2001 as its “Liberal Arts College of the Year.”
