Oxbridge Honors Program
What have the graduates of Oxbridge achieved?
Since 1987, we have had over 100 graduates from Oxbridge. They have gone on to graduate and professional school and to success in professional careers.
Attorneys are the single largest group represented by our graduates. One graduate writes: "The heavy emphasis on writing every week was invaluable for law school and practice. Use of direct, primary sources was helpful." Another attorney wrote: "The comprehensive examination format prepared me for the demands placed on law students to amass and retain large amounts of information."
A number of our graduates have entered doctoral programs. One graduate, now a scientific researcher, writes: "Independent learning played a vital role in my Ph.D. program. The ability to tackle new topics in a systematic manner, as I did during Oxbridge, was very important." Yet another group of graduates have gone on to medical school. We have a 100% placement rate for Oxbridge graduates seeking to enter medical school.
The careers of our Oxbridge graduates also illustrate the versatility of liberal arts education. Two Oxbridge History graduates were hired upon graduation by Andersen Consulting, a nationally known business consulting firm. An Oxbridge Music graduate recently opened an extremely successful business in Saint Louis: "Oxbridge gave me the skills to open that office," he writes. By teaching students to be self-directing and responsible for their own learning, to write well and effectively, and to work towards long-term goals, Oxbridge prepares them for success.
