Service Learning Unit for Spanish 211: Students may opt to complete a Service Learning Unit for this course. The purpose of the SLU is to provide a chance to practice Spanish in a real-life setting, and to have the opportunity to learn about the Mexican-American community in Kansas City. This unit will consist of 15 hours of service at El Centro, Inc., an agency that serves the Mexican-American community in the Argentine District of Kansas City, Kansas. Upon the completion of the service hours, the student will be asked to evaluate the experience through a Reflection Paper written in Spanish.
